Lead The Way to Breast Cancer Prevention in 2013

Business Leaders Needed

If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading.   Lao Tzu

This year, I am encouraging business to Lead The Way to Breast Cancer Prevention in 2013.  The current path of fund raising for awareness has not prevented breast cancer from striking one in eight women. Yet most business leaders will elect to follow the same direction with a sincere hope of raising awareness and finding a cure. Billions of dollars have been raised yet we are no closer to beating breast cancer.  Or are we?

 A New Paradigm

Dr. Vincent Tuohy of The Cleveland Clinic has developed an actual prevention for breast cancer, which is 100% effective in preventing breast cancer from developing in mice, even mice breed to develop the disease. The next step is FDA approval for clinical trials in humans.

Prevention is so much more desirable than the current ‘cures’ for breast cancer, which are chemotherapy, mastectomy and radiation. Wouldn’t you rather offer your daughters, wives, sisters and mothers a preventive vaccine than have them face the life altering cures available today?

Become a Visionary

This year, I encourage you to be a visionary, change your philanthropic paradigm and embrace the first breakthrough that will make a real difference. Whatever special product or event your company plans in October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, why not donate the proceeds to moving prevention forward?  This is a beautiful gift to future generations.

With your help, we can make this campaign viral!  Let’s inspire a change in the breast cancer awareness paradigm and make real progress at long last.

What will your company do to Lead The Way to Breast Cancer Prevention in 2013?

This sounds very promising. I had breast cancer that was found early. I had a lumpectomy and radiation treatment only. It’s been 6 years since my diagnosis and I am still cancer free (exercise, diet, and life style changes help, I believe). But, as a precaution, my doctor wanted me to take Tamoxifen. I tried it and had bad reactions to it so I stopped it. This vaccine is something that is of interest to me for the prevention of cancer recurrence. What are the side effects of this drug, if any?

  2. Hi Susan,

The side effects cannot be confirmed until clinical trials begin. The only expected side effect is soreness due to inflammation. Small price to pay for no breast cancer.

Please explain why the Cleveland Clinic does not fund the human trials needed. They discovered “The Pink Vaccine” and it appears they are unwilling as any other organization to make possible the vaccine a reality within reach of every woman. A reply would be appreciated to those who are suffering and those who can be prevented with just some positive push on the vaccine. Thanks for the cure now let’s see if we can use it.

    • Robert, the reason the CLeveland CLinic does not fund this research itself is that they have so many researchers on staff that they cannot show partiality to any one of them. They have set up a dedicated fund raising site for the vaccine and will not take any portion of the funds for overall operating; it all goes to the vaccine. Each researcher is responsible for writing grants to fund their own research. This needs the attention of the world. After going through all the traditional treatments myself and seeing the $300,000+ bills going to my insurance company, I understand what a big business breast cancer really is. It’s sad, but this vaccine would have big impacts on the bottom lines of so many companies and foundations. Again, this is my personal opinion.

Have not heard of this vaccine. My mother in law passed from breast cancer. In January 2010 my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is free of cancer at this time.3 weeks before my wife was diagnosed, l was diagnosed with squamous cell (tumor at base of my tongue ).Did scan at end of my radiation, spot showed up under my left arm.Lymph nodes. Had to go through chemotherapy and radiation, again. 70 radiation treatments in 9month period. My wife and l finished radiation treatments on same day.So the word Cancer had a big affect on our family. We are both cancer free, but still feel the effects.Still working on strength level. Wife has hot flashes, l stay cold. But, we survived the odds. Cancer is just more common, and when l hear of someone going through treatments, our hearts and prayers go out to them. Will read up more on the Pink Vaccine. And thank you for what you are doing.

  7. In the midst of selling our family home that we shared with our boys for 28 years and of course, having a lot of nostalgic moments. Looking at old photo albums with pictures of my sons when they were quite little and wish that even if it were just for a day, I could go back and re-do those moments. When I was a young Mom, the days were endlessly busy and fatigue was a constant. I loved every moment of it and can’t imagine how young mothers battling breast cancer can do it all while battling this disease. What a gift it would be to our children and future young mothers to prevent this disease…the Pink Vaccine…Isn’t It Time?
